Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: June 2026

By accessing the OpenRSVP website or purchasing a License Key, you agree to these terms.

1. Description of Service

OpenRSVP provides an open-source, self-hostable event management platform. We provide the software (distributed via Docker), documentation, and License Keys that unlock specific limits within the software. We do not host the software for you.

2. Software Licensing (EULA)

Your use of the actual RSVP software is governed strictly by our End User License Agreement (EULA).

  • The software contains built-in usage limits that ping our Validator Hub to verify your tier.
  • You agree not to bypass, reverse engineer, or tamper with the software's validation mechanisms.
  • Any breach of the EULA may result in the immediate revocation of your License Key without a refund.

3. Self-Hosting Responsibility

Because you deploy and host the software on your own infrastructure (e.g., DigitalOcean, AWS):

  • You are solely responsible for securing your server, backing up your database, and maintaining uptime.
  • You own all of your event and guest data. We do not have access to your database.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your use of the software (including sending emails via your own SMTP provider) complies with local privacy and anti-spam laws (like GDPR or CAN-SPAM).

4. Account Registration

To generate a Free Registered Key or purchase a Commercial Key, you must provide a valid email address. You are responsible for keeping your License Keys secure. Do not share your Commercial License Key publicly.

5. Payments

All paid features (Commercial License Keys) are billed according to the tier selected. See our Refund Policy for details regarding digital goods.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenRSVP and its creators are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or catastrophic damages resulting from the use of our software or website. This includes lost event data, missed RSVPs, server downtime, or email delivery failures, as you are responsible for hosting and managing the infrastructure.

7. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
